Special
Printing
Effect (SPE)

Matt lamination is often used in conjunction with spot UV to highlight images and logos, forming an integral part of the graphic design process. While matt lamination offers a smooth finish, spot UV applies a high gloss varnish to certain parts of the material. Traditionally, the process requires several press passes resulting in long process time and high costs.

At Spectrum, we take this a step further. The Special Printing Effect (SPE) produced by our UV printing not only achieves the above matt-gloss effect but adds on the necessary texture to the material, resulting in a highly sophisticated print result. All this is done using only a single press pass and at a significantly higher accuracy. This greatly reduces turnaround time and allows and allows us to deliver this Special Printing Effect at a highly affordable price to our customers.
